The centralized system of libraries for children in Dnipro has launched an “Incubator of Creative Ideas”, which is designed to teach children creative thinking, as well as help children aged 12-15 create their own intellectual product.
“The idea of the service was born a long time ago, since teenage users need to know how to design and promote their ideas. It is common for children to come up with creative ideas, however, they lack the knowledge and skills to structure and bring the idea to fruition. And this is where qualified specialists should help them. In our opinion, the best platform for this is a children’s library, which possesses necessary information and human resources”, says librarian Oleksandra Kotelnikova.
The prototype of the service was created by the Centralized System of Libraries for Children in Dnipro staff. Testing was conducted among children aged 12-15, teachers, parents and potential customers.
“During the prototype stage, we managed to adjust the service structure, expand the range of potential partners and users. The focus of the service has also changed. Before testing, there was a creative idea in the center, but now the user of the service has become the main focus”, adds the librarian.
The service will operate in the library during 2020-2021 academic year.
