Create culture:
Library Innovative Services

In 2020, the Ukrainian Library Association implements an international project called “Create Culture: Library Innovative Services”, supported by the European Union as a part of the House of Europe program. On a competitive basis, 32 librarians from Ukraine and Belarus were selected and trained by Danish and Ukrainian coaches. As a result of the workshops, each participating librarian developed and implemented a new innovative service for the development of creative industries in their library. These services are presented on the website.

Art-marketing School for Artists and Musicians

Volyn State Regional Universal Scientific Library named after Olena Pchilka opened an art marketing school, where Lutsk artists and musicians will be able to learn to promote their own cultural products.

“The creation of such a service was encouraged by library users. A lot of readers from the art department said these days it is rather difficult to realize your creative potential and make money on it”, says Ulyana Jaman, one of the initiators of the school.

A prototype of the service was created together with employees of the City Subscription Department and the Library Art Literature Department. We also involved regular readers of the library, artists and musicians, who gave recommendations and conducted surveys.

“We realized it is inappropriate to set an age limit for users of the Art Marketing School, and also found out it was necessary to provide users with specialized literature,” said the librarian sharing the results of testing the service.

We organize master classes and lectures at the school, as well as meetings with people who can share their own experience of promotion. The organizers plan to record events and post them on the Internet for free.
